Have you ever been waiting for something so magical that you couldn't sleep? Well that is how Darryl and I have been feeling the last couple of days as we were eagerly waiting for Kiya's debut in her first Musical at school.
For a child who is normally shy around people, she has come out of her shell and earned a spot as a main character on stage. Darryl has been so excited because he too starred in a school production and feel Kiya is carrying on the torch. So after months of preparation, tears, struggles with costumes, and late night rehearsals, it has come to the big day. Dress rehearsal!!!!
Mylee was able to sit in amongst the audience and I snuck in because my class was in there as well. Well I was almost in tears of pride for her. She did so amazing, took her cues like a pro and made me quite proud.
My mom and Jason and Gwen were able to attend the afternoon performance and again Jasmine made me cry. My mom brought Kiya flowers and Kiya carried them around until the end of school. It was a magical moment. Her first show, her first performance in front of someone other than me. We were all impressed.
